Faith E-News: New Member Class and Council Highlights

December 26, 2022

When we look at the scriptures for Sunday, we see that God watches out for dishonest gains and the oppression of the poor. Perhaps one reason the parable seems to praise the solution of the shrewd manager is that he finds a way to help others that also helps himself. This points to an even more creative God who sends Jesus to help others at the cost of his life. Jesus lifts up the poor and forgives debts by taking them on himself. We are called to use our blessings freely, without ulterior motives so that we honor Jesus' care for us.
